WHY BOOK A JUST 8 PHOTOGRAPHER

An Independent Group

JUST 8   is an association of eight separate photographic studios. We formed in 2004 with the aim of sharing ideas and setting the pace with the latest trends in wedding photography. We all felt that this was the only way to ensure we would always be able to give the very best service to our wedding couples. We prefer to keep our independence, but are happy to refer you to others within the group if we are booked on your day. This enables you to choose, for your wedding, the   JUST 8   photographer who will be just right.

Leading British Photographers

Each member of   JUST 8   is a qualified, full time, professional photographer. Our achievements include many National & International Awards for our work.  Our continuing commitment to compete for Awards enables us to apply a creative approach to your wedding, wherever the location.  We have all successfully covered Destination Weddings abroad.  If you are considering a wedding outside the UK, just ask.

Dedicated

When you book a   JUST 8   photographer you can be sure of a committed and professional approach to every aspect of your wedding. From the Pre Wedding Consultation through to the day you receive your Album we will endeavour to supply you with the best products and advice to suit your preferences. We want your day to be as carefree and stress free as we can make it, so that you are free to just relax.

Contemporary Wedding Style

We feel that   JUST 8   is at the forefront of the drive towards a more contemporary approach to wedding photography. Within the group you will find styles ranging from, “fly on the wall”, reportage to, “high fashion”, location photography. In practice most weddings will want a balance of both styles with a few family pictures added. Each   JUST 8   photographer has their own unique style and we are confident one will be right for you. So go ahead, just choose.

JUST 8 - Observing life as it is....with photography as it should be.

Chrissie & Stuart, Tattersalls, Newmarket, Suffolk.

25th July 2009

Chrissie wins the prize so far this year for the most adventurous Bridesmaids outfits. Cream dresses, with a black waist sash, complimented deep orange high heels, and topped off with royal blue and white bouquets with a blood red ribbon. So stylish & contemporary!

After the ceremony a complimentery Ice Cream Van was on site to offer all the guests (including me!) a "99". I ended up with a very sticky camera!! Then we departed to the reception venue Tattersalls, Newmarket. www.tattersalls.com  This venue is steeped in history and since it was founded in 1766 has been the premier place to buy horses & livestock.During the afternoon we were serenaded by "The Ringtones" Barbershop Quartet and as dusk fell I was able to take Chrissie & Stuart out into the grounds to take some romantica pictures, in a magical setting. These images both complimented and contrasted with the reportage and candid photography during the day.

Also a big thank you to Tess Youngs, one of the wedding coordinators at Tattersalls. You were so helpful and did a marvellous professional job. www.tattersalls-events.com  The Ringtones cshjohn@gmail.com

Yasmine & Tommy, The Royal Berkshire Hotel, Ascot.

18th July 2009

There were some wicked games with horrible forefits played on Tommy and his Bestman & Ushers by Yasmines Bridesmaids before they could even enter the Ceremony Room. All watched from a distance by Yasmine from the balcony of her room.  The grounds at The Royal Berkshire Hotel www.ramadajarvis.co.uk/hotels/ascot.aspx are perfect this time of year and I made the most of a 15 minute photoshoot with Yasmine & Tommy to get some natural, informal pictures of them which I am sure will provide the basis of memories for many years to come.

Sophia & Barry, The Compleat Angler.

Sometimes a wedding can be just fun, fun, fun!  Sophie and Barry's wedding was just that and was held on 17th July 2009 at The compleat Angler, Marlow.  www.macdonaldhotels.co.uk/compleatangler Last time I photographed Sophie here was at her friends wedding 5 years ago. This was the wedding where I shot my Award Winning "Stag Party" picture that appears on the front of my website.

Much to Sophie's dissapointment there was no repeat performance of twenty naked men swimming in the Thames this time but we were treated to some great Jazz yet again supplied by Mike Taylor. www.miketaylorjazz.co.uk

It rained for most of the day but no one noticed as we were all having such a good time as you can see from the photographs.

Crystal & Stuart, Stoke Park Club

11th July and I'm back at the wonderful Stoke Park Club.  www.stokeparkclub.com Stuat looks after the golf course here  and Crystal had always dreamed this would be the setting for their wedding . Every detail of this wedding was carefully planned even to Crystal's shoes with "I do" spelt out in sequins.  My good friend Mike Taylor provided cool Sax music throughout the Wedding Breakfast. www.miketaylorjazz.co.uk

Kelly & Jonathan, The Bull Hotel, Gerrards Cross.

The Red & White of St George & England were the colours of the day at Kelly & Jon's wedding at The Bull Hotel  www.sarova.com/bull   Kelly was so full of joy on the day and the heatwave of the preceeding days made way for a more comfortable temperature.  Kelly's Grandad (also named Dennis!) was a remarkable character and gave a wonderful speech at the end of the Wedding Breakfast.

Emma & Damion, Newland Hall, Essex.

Over to Essex this week to a great venue, Newland Hall. www.newlandhall.co.uk  Thunderstorms were forecast for the afternoon but they held off for Emma & Damion, at least until they and their guests were safely in the Marquee.  The pageboys & flower girls behaved impecably and "stole the show" with their infectious smiles and their confidence. Well done Charles, Harry, Amelia & Ruby.

During the signing of the register we were treated to beautiful singing from soprano Dale Rutherford. www.dalerutherford.com

Emma & Damion are heading to Singapore & Borneo for their honeymoon

Allison & Peter. Stoke Park Club

Allison & Peter will be sunning themselves on a beach in Mauritius by now and there was plenty of sun for their wedding on 13th June at Stoke Park Club.  www.stokeparkclub.com

I always give one piece of advice to all my couples before their wedding and that is to relax and not look at the camera unless I specifically ask them. This makes the picture more informal and somehow "real". Well Allison & Peter followed this instruction to the letter and I feel the naturalness of these pictures bears out this "little pearl of wisdom"

Excellent piping came courtesy of Rob Watt, one of the finest pipers this side of Hadrians Wall! www.londonpiper.com or www.macbagpipes.com

My favoutite pictures are the cloud pictures taken down by the bridge. I have a great friend and brilliant inter national photographer, Annika Metsla, who hails from Estonia. www.annikametsla.com  She is always using the sky as a backdrop to her couple shots. She was the inspiration for these pictures. Thanks Annika!

Also thanks to Tali, my assistant for the day. (see 2nd picture in the slideshow). I hope you enjoyed your day Tali and good luck when you start your Fashion & Photography course  at Southampton in September. I hope I taught you something!!

The rain held off on 6th June for Katie & Adam Jeffries and PINK was definately the order of the day with Katie & her 6 bridesmaids arriving in pink shell suits!!  Wasing Park is a new venue in Aldermaston, Berksire and is an amazing setting for weddings www.wasing-weddings.co.uk

Katie's dress was designed by Suzanne Neville www.suzanneneville.com and those shoes were by Dior www.diorcouture.com  They completely stole the show.

Suzanne & Daniel at Bearwood Lakes

28th March and a sunny but windy day for a wedding. Bearwood Lakes Berkshire was the setting, www.bearwoodlakes.co.uk and Suzie & Dan were so natural & relaxed in front of the camera. A special thanks to John the vicar for his cooperation at the church. Also thanks to Toastmaster Mark Shaw-Brookman www.southerntoastmaster.co.uk  for perfect organization and for keeping the fun going. Barry Weare was on hand to capture the video www.bwvideofilms.co.uk and to get in the way as usual!!  Only joking Barry.
